I was shooting photos on weekends and working two jobs during the week. I knew I was good — people told me all the time. But knowing you're good and knowing how to get paid for it are very different things.
I drew The Star. The reading said my perfectionism was actually a strength, but only if I stopped using it as an excuse not to ship. The shadow section said "Your standards are protecting you from being judged, and you've disguised the fear as taste." Ouch.
The plan didn't tell me to start "a photography business." It told me to start a branding studio — specifically, personal brand photography for small business owners in Atlanta. Different positioning. Different price point. Instead of $200 portrait sessions, I was charging $800 for brand photography packages.
Day 4, I did a styled shoot with a friend who owns a bakery — free, but it built my portfolio. Day 12, her friend hired me for $800. Day 19, I had my first $800 week from two shoots.
Month 1: $3,200. Month 3: $6,400/month. I quit my second job first, then my first job a month later. The camera's the same. The business is completely different.
